Ash CEVC Primary School is located in a small rural village in Somerset in the South West of England. The school serves our local community children from the village, the nearby town of Martock, and other local villages. The age range is 2-11. We aim to work together with everyone in our school community to ensure that all children and families receive the very best education and care whilst they are with us. There is nothing more important to us than their physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. We have a caring, dedicated and talented team of staff who deliver an exciting curriculum utilising our excellent resources and outdoor spaces. Nested in the South Somerset countryside, our children enjoy a rich outdoor experience and have access to all that our beautiful county has to offer.

Every child's unique strengths and abilities are nurtured here to ensure that we prepare our pupils for the future, support their talents and hear their developing views and opinions. We encourage our children to seize new opportunities and face the challenges they encounter. We are passionate about global citizenship and believe this project will help broaden and deepen the curriculum by offering opportunities to extend children's world views and their understanding and tolerance of difference and diversity. It is particularly important as we live in a rural part of the country that offers few opportunities for children experience diverse cultures. This project should provide enriching experiences for our children, the teachers and staff.

Our school has taken part in a wide variety of Comenius and Erasmus projects since 1996 working with various partner schools across Europe. We have enjoyed the experience of hosting visits from teachers and pupils from other schools and many of our staff and children have had the privilege of visiting our partner schools.
